Medical, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Packaging takes product safety seriously. Whether it is a bottle of prescription medication or a gallon of bleach, it is critical for Grandma to get her medication or for dad to do the laundry, while preventing little Cody from doing either.

Child Resistant Closure (CRC) caps essentially add an extra safety mechanism to make it harder if not impossible for children to uncap medication or chemical containers. Some caps are designed to be ‘Push and Twist’, while newer designs have the ‘Squeeze and Twist’ design. Whatever the preferred safety mechanism, proper testing ensures that CRC-capped containers meet the requisite safety standards to prevent serious liability issues.

CRC involves measuring not only the cap release torque but also how much axial force is required to activate the cap release mechanism. This webinar will focus on the common methods for CRC testing and types of equipment used in CRC testing, as well as best practices for selecting the ideal fixtures.

What You’ll Learn in the Webinar and Live Demonstration:

  • Overview of Cap Torque Testing
  • Introduction to CRC Testing

  • Types of CRC Caps
  • Selecting the Ideal Testing Equipment and Test Fixtures
  • 应用轴向力和测量再保险lease Torque
  • Establishing Pass/Fail Criteria
  • Troubleshooting Inconsistent test results or non-repeatable tests
